NeuronWriter is a low-priced SERP editor with AI drafting inside it, and BrandWell (formerly Content at Scale) is an article engine that researches, writes in bulk, refreshes and publishes at a much higher entry price. NeuronWriter suits freelancers and small teams that edit their own drafts, while BrandWell suits teams that want volume produced for them. DeepSmith is a strong alternative on hands-off production, because Autowrite writes each configured article on its scheduled date and sends it to your CMS from Produced Content, with AI answer tracking on the same plan.
Most people searching NeuronWriter vs BrandWell are really asking whether a $23 editor can do the job of a platform that costs ten times as much. The short version is that they do different jobs. NeuronWriter helps you optimize a draft against the pages already ranking, and BrandWell produces the drafts and moves them toward publishing. A third option, DeepSmith, covers the production side on a published plan with a fixed monthly article allowance, and it tracks AI answers on the same plan.
NeuronWriter vs BrandWell editor or article engine: the short answer
- Choose DeepSmith if you want articles written and published on a schedule without anyone opening the app, with Pro at $99/mo for 20 articles and 50 tracked prompts, and tracking of AI answers on the same plan.
- Choose NeuronWriter if you or your writers draft and edit by hand, you want SERP-based term guidance, and your budget is closer to $23 to $117 a month than to $249.
- Choose BrandWell if you want a platform that queues, researches and writes 25 to 100 articles a month, flags pages to refresh, and carries work through approval, starting at $249/mo for RankWell Essentials.

NeuronWriter

NeuronWriter is a SERP-based content optimization editor from the Polish company Conti sp. z o.o. You enter a keyword, it reads the Google results for it, and it returns NLP terms, entities, headings and length targets alongside a live content score. The editor also drafts with AI (Content Designer, templates and the Neuro assistant), checks plagiarism on Gold and up, suggests internal links and generates schema. A smaller AI Visibility module monitors a handful of questions for brand mentions.
It is built for freelancers, small businesses and small to mid-sized agencies. NeuronWriter's pricing page lists plans from $23 to $117 a month, and unlimited team members, WordPress, Search Console, the API and an MCP server start at Gold, which is $69. Reviewers mostly praise the term guidance and the value. We saw 4.4/5 on G2 from 31 reviews, 4.9/5 on Capterra from 17 and 4.5/5 on Trustpilot from 68 when we checked on 2026-09-30.
The real limitation for this comparison is volume. The record shows no documented bulk article generation or scheduled auto-publishing, and the API and Zapier create analyses in bulk, not articles. Reviewers also say the AI drafts can be generic and need editing, and a few mention a learning curve. A separate DeepSmith vs NeuronWriter page covers that pairing in more detail.
BrandWell

BrandWell (formerly Content at Scale) is a growth automation company whose content product, RankWell, researches, writes, optimizes and publishes SEO articles. Briefs, a calendar, a production queue, an editor with an SEO score, and delivery to WordPress, Contentful or Google Docs all sit in one workspace. Visibility, which tracks answers on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, comes with every RankWell plan. Articles can start from a keyword, a URL, a video or a podcast.
It is built for content and SEO teams and agencies that want long-form volume with brand voice rules applied. Public prices are $249, $499 and $999 a month for 25, 50 and 100 articles. The AIMEE agent adds workflow templates with approval points, and the first user is included.
The limits are mostly about clarity. Its own pages disagree on pricing and trial terms, and the review base is small and old, with 4.0/5 on Capterra from five 2023 reviews on the legacy Content at Scale listing, 9.1/10 on TrustRadius from two, and one Trustpilot review. Older reviews also describe drafts that needed fact checking and editing, which our Content at Scale review goes through for the earlier product. Our DeepSmith vs Content at Scale page covers the same ground from the other side.
DeepSmith: the alternative that writes and publishes on a schedule

Neither tool fully documents hands-off scheduled publishing. NeuronWriter documents no scheduled write-and-publish at all, and BrandWell has a calendar and scheduled agent routines, but it says generation creates editable work and publishing goes through a separate approved delivery path. That approval step suits some teams. For a lead who just wants the calendar to turn into live pages, it is the part that still needs a person.
DeepSmith is an AI search analytics and content production platform in one, and its content production pipeline is built around that scheduling. You give a planned idea a date, you configure the article, and Autowrite writes it on that date and lands it in Produced Content, with no one in the app. The article is written against your stored persona, voice, content type and link targets from Deep IQ, with research, internal and external links, a cover image and publish-ready metadata included. From Produced Content you review and publish to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks, and Autowrite can take an article all the way to published.

Pro is $99/mo ($80 billed annually) for 20 articles, 50 tracked prompts and 5 seats, Grow is $199/mo for 40 articles, and Scale is $399/mo for 90, all with a 7-day free trial and no long-term contracts. Tracking runs on the same plan, with ChatGPT on Pro, Perplexity added on Grow, Gemini added on Scale and all ten engines on Enterprise. DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified and rated 4.8/5 on G2, while neither NeuronWriter's nor BrandWell's public pages mention a SOC 2 report.

Pricing and value
BrandWell vs NeuronWriter on price is not close, and NeuronWriter wins it. Its five plans run from $23 to $117 a month ($19 to $97 billed yearly), and all of them are published. BrandWell's pricing page lists RankWell at $249 for 25 articles, $499 for 50 and $999 for 100, which works out to about $10 an article at the entry tier.
The two prices buy different things, so the comparison is not quite like for like. NeuronWriter's allowance is analyses, 25 to 150 a month, plus AI credits, and an analysis is a keyword you research, not an article that gets written. BrandWell's allowance is finished drafts. Add-ons matter on both sides. NeuronWriter's AI Monitoring add-on starts at $9 a month for 10 questions, and BrandWell charges $49 or $149 a month for each extra AIMEE teammate.
BrandWell's pricing comes with a caveat. Its registration page still shows older 12-month plans from $899 to $2,999 a month, and the trial terms disagree across pages, so get the price in writing before you commit. For BrandWell against a quote-based rival, see AirOps vs BrandWell.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith publishes its plans, so you can see $99, $199 and $399 a month before talking to anyone. Each plan includes a fixed article allowance, tracked prompts and seats, which keeps the cost of a published article easy to work out.
Article production and automation
BrandWell wins on production. It queues articles in priority order, writes the whole queue, and caps output at 25, 50 or 100 articles a month by plan, with programmatic SEO on Growth and Scale. NeuronWriter generates a full article with Content Designer from Gold and presents the result as a draft to edit.
On automation, NeuronWriter works through Zapier, Boost.space, its API and its MCP server, and the MCP server cannot run the one-click generator or publish to WordPress. BrandWell's AIMEE runs routines on schedules, though publishing still needs an approved path.
Choosing NeuronWriter or BrandWell mostly comes down to how many articles you need each month and who does the writing. The practical result is that NeuronWriter is better at making one article stronger, and BrandWell is better at making a month of articles. If your constraint is writer hours, that points toward BrandWell or DeepSmith. If your constraint is the quality of drafts you already have, it points toward NeuronWriter. For a closer look at how drafts become publish-ready, see beyond the first draft in our comparison of AI platforms. Teams that want publishing handled by the platform can also look at AI content tools with CMS auto-publish.
What DeepSmith does: Autowrite handles the scheduling that neither tool documents end to end. Each article writes itself on its date and lands in Produced Content, and the plan's monthly allowance sets the volume, so a content calendar turns into published pages instead of a to-do list.
Optimization and refresh
NeuronWriter wins on guidance for a single draft, and BrandWell wins on refresh. NeuronWriter analyzes the top 10, top 30 or top-intent results, and shows NLP terms, entities, questions and a live score, and reviewers repeatedly praise exactly that part. BrandWell also scores drafts live, with NLP, entity and salience analysis in every plan, so on scoring the two are close. If you are weighing NeuronWriter against another scoring tool, NeuronWriter vs Surfer is the closer match, and Surfer SEO vs BrandWell covers the other side.
Refresh is where they separate. NeuronWriter lets you import existing content and re-score it, and its Search Console connection shows clicks and cannibalization, but it does not document automatic detection of decaying pages. BrandWell's content plan flags pages that lost clicks and suggests what to optimize, merge or delete, using Search Console data.
For a team with a large archive, that difference matters. Neither vendor promises rankings from a score, and BrandWell says outright that its score is guidance and not a guarantee.
AI answer visibility
BrandWell covers more chat engines in its base plans, and NeuronWriter does more to optimize the text itself. BrandWell tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity in every RankWell plan, though it does not state check quotas, how often checks run or how long answers are kept. NeuronWriter's plans include 5 to 20 Standard monitored questions covering Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and the Advanced add-on adds ChatGPT and Perplexity.
On the optimization side, NeuronWriter documents an AI Score, AI Optimization suggestions in the editor and an AI Readiness audit that checks crawler access, robots.txt and schema. BrandWell claims to grow visibility in AI answers but documents no method for optimizing article text for citation. Both vendors' outcome claims are claims, and the research behind this page found no measured citation lift for either one.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith tracks mention rate, citation rate and share of voice per prompt, shows which of your pages AI cites, and lists which competitor pages win the citations. Those findings feed Opportunity Agents, which return ideas with the data point attached, so the tracking leads straight into what Autowrite writes next.
From insight to action
BrandWell wins on carrying work from idea to publish, with NeuronWriter a clear step behind on workflow. BrandWell's AIMEE agent runs templates such as Publish the answer and Close a visibility gap, each with named approval points, and delivery to WordPress and Contentful is native. NeuronWriter has no in-app workflow builder, offers WordPress one-click export from Gold, and shares content with unlimited team members from Gold while formal approval steps are not documented. For a wider view of what automated pipelines can and cannot do, what AI content agents can automate lays out the boundary.
The other half of the question is where the ideas come from. NeuronWriter's Next Content Ideas draws on your keywords and competitor content, and BrandWell's content plan ranks what to create or improve from search performance and AI citations.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith runs the whole loop in one platform. AI Visibility finds where you are missing, Content Map shows the topics competitors cover that you do not, Opportunity Agents turn both into evidence-backed ideas, and Content Studio writes and publishes them. The REST API and MCP server read workspace data, and webhooks notify your own systems when content changes status.
