Scalenut vs NeuronWriter comes down to a bundle against an editor. Scalenut starts at $59 a month and puts planning, writing, optimization, publishing and AI answer tracking in one subscription, while NeuronWriter starts at $23 and is a SERP optimization editor with unlimited teammates, an API and an MCP server from its $69 Gold plan. DeepSmith is the stronger choice when you want tracking, writing and scheduled publishing to run as one loop, from a published $99 price with a fixed monthly article allowance.
If you are weighing Scalenut or NeuronWriter for a small content team, the price on the card tells you less than what each plan includes. Both offer a 7-day trial and both gate features by tier, but they gate different things. Scalenut holds back its extras until Plus, and NeuronWriter holds back team access and integrations until Gold. This Scalenut vs NeuronWriter pricing review goes through each tier, where each tool is stronger, and who each one suits. DeepSmith sits alongside them for teams that want one platform to track AI answers and produce the articles that respond to them.

Scalenut
Scalenut is an AI SEO writing and optimization suite from Gurugram, India, founded in 2020. It is built for small and mid-size content teams, founders and agencies who write English SEO content and want keyword clustering, drafting, scoring and basic AI visibility tracking in one low-cost subscription. The self-serve plans are Starter at $59, Plus at $89 and Professional at $199 a month, and its annual offer lists them at $24, $36 and $80 a month.
The standout is breadth. One subscription covers keyword clusters, the Cruise Mode article writer, a content optimizer with a GEO score, content audits, internal linking, WordPress and Shopify publishing, and weekly tracking of ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, with Perplexity on Professional. Brand Kit stores tone, readability and negative keywords, and Professional includes unlimited workspaces and team members.
The limits sit mostly at the edges. The plan grid shows no team members, content audit, auto optimization, internal linking or CMS integration on Starter, which gives 5 GEO articles a month. There is no public API, the self-serve product is documented as English only, and no security certifications are published.
Reviews are strong where most buyers look, at 4.7/5 on G2 from 315 reviews and 4.8/5 on Capterra from 397, checked in September 2026. Trustpilot is lower at 3.2/5 from 159 reviews, where some reviewers describe renewal and refund problems, and reviewers on several sites say drafts can be generic and need editing.
NeuronWriter
NeuronWriter comes from the Polish company Conti sp. z o.o. and is listed as founded in 2021. It analyzes the Google results for a keyword and turns them into term, entity, heading and length recommendations with a live content score. It is built for freelancers, small businesses and small to mid-sized agencies that want that optimization at a low published price, especially when many teammates need access without per-seat fees.
Plans run from Bronze at $23 to Diamond at $117 a month, or $19 to $97 billed yearly. The standout is what Gold at $69 adds, which is unlimited team members, the Neuron API, an MCP server, WordPress export, Search Console, 75 plagiarism checks and one-click article generation in Content Designer. Gold and above can also use their own OpenAI or Anthropic key, and the tool analyzes Google results in over 170 languages.
The limits are mostly in the entry tiers. Bronze and Silver have read-only sharing and standard templates only, and neither lists Content Designer, WordPress, Search Console, the API or MCP. The AI visibility allowance is small at 5 to 20 monitored questions, and according to the vendor's AI Visibility FAQ, ChatGPT and Perplexity need the paid Advanced add-on, which starts at $9 a month for 10 questions. NeuronWriter does not document bulk article generation or scheduled publishing.
Reviewers rate it 4.4/5 on G2 from 31 reviews, 4.9/5 on Capterra from 17 and 4.5/5 on Trustpilot from 68. They praise the SERP analysis and the value, and some report generic drafts, a learning curve and a dated interface.
DeepSmith: the alternative that tracks, writes and publishes on a schedule
Scalenut and NeuronWriter each cover part of the loop. Scalenut tracks AI answers weekly and offers a guided writer, but its pages do not describe writing on a schedule without manual steps or running many articles at once. NeuronWriter documents neither bulk article generation nor scheduled publishing, and its tracking is a small module. With either one you still decide what to write, run each article, and publish it yourself.
DeepSmith closes that gap by running tracking and production from the same data. AI Visibility reports mention rate, citation rate, share of voice and sentiment, and shows which of your pages AI cites and which competitor pages win. Content Map compares your coverage against competitor sites topic by topic, and Opportunity Agents turn both into content ideas that each carry the data point behind them.

The Writer then produces a publish-ready article from Deep IQ, which stores your company, products, personas, voice and content types, with research, internal and external links, a cover image and metadata included. Autowrite writes each planned article on its scheduled date, and Produced Content publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks.

The price is published. Pro is $99 a month ($80 billed yearly) with 20 articles, 50 tracked prompts and 5 seats, Grow is $199 with 40 articles and 100 prompts, and Scale is $399 with 90 articles and 200 prompts. There is a 7-day free trial and no long-term contract. DeepSmith is rated 4.8/5 on G2 and is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified.
Pricing and value
NeuronWriter is cheaper at every comparable tier, and Scalenut includes more tools in each subscription. At the entry level the gap is $23 against $59 a month, or $19 against $24 billed yearly on Scalenut's limited annual offer. Neither entry plan is where most teams end up, though, because the useful features arrive higher up.
In a NeuronWriter vs Scalenut cost check, the team tier is the fairest place to compare. Gold at $69 gives unlimited team members, 10 projects, 75 analyses, the API and MCP. Plus at $89 gives 4 team members, 2 workspaces, 30 GEO articles, 200 audited pages, the link manager and WordPress or Shopify publishing. At the top, Professional at $199 gives 75 GEO articles, 100 tracked prompts and unlimited seats, and Diamond at $117 gives 150 analyses and 20 monitored questions. The units differ, since Scalenut counts articles and NeuronWriter counts analyses, so the totals are not a like for like measure.
Two pricing cautions apply to Scalenut. Its annual prices come from a 60% limited offer, and its product pages show a different AI Visibility price list from the pricing page, which I did not use.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith prices by output. Each plan carries a fixed monthly article allowance of 20, 40 or 90, with no long-term contract, so you can work out a cost per article before you start. At Pro that is just under $5 an article if you use the full 20.
Writing and brand context
This axis splits. Scalenut is stronger on brand voice rules, and NeuronWriter is stronger on stored knowledge and languages.
Scalenut's Brand Kit stores tone, readability level, paragraph length, preferred and negative keywords, an English variant and an anti-AI filter, and you can keep several kits. It grounds drafts in a brand name, domain, summary and competitors, but describes no document knowledge base. NeuronWriter's AI Profile builds a project profile of products and pricing, entities, personas and brand voice from your website or uploaded documents, and it feeds Content Designer. Its brand voice controls are rated partial because the more advanced ones are still on its roadmap.
On volume, Scalenut allows 5, 30 or 75 GEO articles a month by plan. NeuronWriter generates full articles from Gold. Reviewers of both tools say the drafts need human editing.
What DeepSmith does: Deep IQ stores About Company, products, personas, brand voice, visual guidelines and content types as structured records, and every draft is written against them. Voice and product facts then come from stored context instead of a brief you rewrite for each article.
SERP scoring and optimization
NeuronWriter has a small edge on scoring depth, and Scalenut is stronger around it. Analysis is NeuronWriter's core product. Each query reads the Google results for a keyword, language and search engine, using the top 10, the top 30 or the top-intent pages, and recommendations are usually ready in about a minute. The editor returns NLP terms, entities, headings, a content score and an AI Score, and it can generate schema markup.
Scalenut scores against the top 30 results too, with a live SEO and GEO score, and shows the outlines of the top 10, 20 and 30 competitors in Cruise Mode. It is ahead on keyword research, with volume, CPC and difficulty in its cluster reports, where NeuronWriter's keyword data is partial. It also audits existing pages across 200 or more ranking factors on Plus and Professional.
AI answer tracking
Scalenut offers more tracking on the plan, and NeuronWriter rechecks more often. Scalenut tracks 10, 25 or 100 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, adds Perplexity on Professional, and refreshes weekly, with daily refresh as an upgrade whose price is not published. NeuronWriter includes 5 to 20 Standard questions covering Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, rechecks them every 24 to 48 hours, and needs the Advanced add-on for ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Both are light on method. Neither publishes how it collects answers or how long it keeps history, so treat their numbers as directional.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith tracks ChatGPT on Pro, adds Perplexity on Grow and Gemini on Scale, and covers all ten engines on Enterprise. It reports mention rate, citation rate, share of voice and sentiment per prompt, and it attributes citations to the specific pages on your site that earn them.
Team access, API and publishing
NeuronWriter wins on access and developer tools, and Scalenut wins on approvals and publishing. NeuronWriter gives unlimited team members from Gold, the Neuron API in version 0.5, and an OAuth MCP server with 11 tools at no extra cost. The MCP server cannot run its one-click article generator or publish to WordPress, so the publishing step stays manual. Formal approval steps are not documented.
Scalenut has no public API and no MCP server mentioned. In return it offers an approval workflow in On Page Pro, a link manager that deploys approved links to your CMS, and WordPress and Shopify publishing from Plus, where it can schedule posts it has already drafted.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity and Contentful, or to your own webhooks. Its REST API and 23-tool MCP server read workspace data, such as visibility, the Content Map and the content library, and its signed webhooks tell your systems when content changes status.
From insight to action
Scalenut is ahead here, because its tracking sits in the same subscription as the optimizer and link manager that act on what it finds. Its AI Visibility view shows prompt gaps against competitors, and Fix-it auto optimization and the link manager apply changes to existing pages from Plus. NeuronWriter lists "Earn mention" pages and "Optimize" tasks in its AI Visibility Opportunities tab, which points you to the work without producing the article.
In both cases a person still picks the topic, runs the writer and publishes the result.
What DeepSmith does: In DeepSmith the gap becomes the article. An Opportunity Agent turns a tracked prompt or a Content Map gap into ideas with evidence attached, you give an idea a date, and Autowrite produces the article on that date and lands it in Produced Content for review or publishing. Apps Library then turns the finished article into LinkedIn, X, newsletter and other channel versions in the same voice.
Which should you choose
- DeepSmith: if you want one platform that shows where AI answers leave you out, decides what to write from that evidence, and produces and publishes the articles on a schedule, with a published price and a fixed monthly article allowance.
- Scalenut: if you are choosing between the two and want the broader all-in-one suite, with audits, link deployment, CMS publishing and weekly AI tracking, and your content is in English.
- NeuronWriter: if you are choosing between the two and want the cheapest SERP-driven editor, with many teammates, the API or MCP from Gold, and content in several languages.
