For an agency with several clients, Ahrefs Brand Radar handles many brands better than HubSpot AEO. It keeps multiple saved reports and has a public API, while HubSpot AEO is set up per domain and bought per brand, with no documented agency features. Neither documents white-label reporting. DeepSmith is a strong alternative when each client also needs content: Multi-Workspace keeps every client's context, content and plan separate and billed independently, and the same workspace writes and publishes the articles.

If you run AI visibility for several clients, the question in Ahrefs Brand Radar vs HubSpot AEO for agencies comes down to how each tool treats a second, third and tenth brand. Ahrefs Brand Radar lets you keep many reports in one account and pull the data through an API. HubSpot AEO is built around one domain per setup, so each extra client is another purchase. The full feature comparison is covered on the main page, so this one stays on the agency job. DeepSmith sits next to both as a platform where each client gets a workspace that tracks and also produces.

Ahrefs Brand Radar vs HubSpot AEO for agencies: the short answer

  • Choose DeepSmith if each client needs its own isolated workspace where AI visibility tracking, finished articles, CMS publishing and repurposing live together, with every workspace billed on its own.
  • Choose Ahrefs Brand Radar if your agency mostly researches and reports AI visibility across many client brands and wants a public API and a Looker Studio connector.
  • Choose HubSpot AEO if you manage one or two brands, want a $50 a month starting point with a 28-day trial, and accept that each additional brand is its own purchase.

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Brand Radar is the AI visibility module inside the Ahrefs marketing platform. It pairs a pre-collected index of 448M+ prompts across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot with custom prompts you track on a schedule, and Claude is available for custom prompts only. For an agency, the useful part is that you can research any client brand or competitor without first building a prompt list.

The index is sold at $199 a month per selected index, or $699 for all of them, and custom prompt packages start at $50. Ahrefs says it offers no free trials. Brand Radar is monitoring only, so content briefs, writing and CMS publishing are not part of the module. The Ahrefs suite holds a 4.5/5 rating on G2 from 717 reviews, but that rating covers the whole suite and not Brand Radar alone, and no standalone rating for Brand Radar was found.

HubSpot AEO

HubSpot AEO is a beta tool that runs your tracked prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. It reports visibility, sentiment, share of voice and citations, and turns the citation patterns into prioritized recommendations. It is built for marketing teams that want a low-cost, self-serve start, and for existing Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise customers, who get it included.

The standalone plan is $50 a month ($45 billed annually) for 25 prompts and 2,500 answers, and extra capacity is $20 a month per 10 prompts. G2 shows 4.4/5 from 145 reviews, with reviewers praising easy setup and clear competitor reporting. They also point to the 25-prompt cap, the missing Claude coverage and recommendations that read as generic. The documentation supports one owned domain per setup and describes no agency program.

DeepSmith: the alternative that gives each client a workspace that also produces

The gap both tools leave for an agency is what happens after the report. Ahrefs Brand Radar handles multiple brands well, and HubSpot AEO gives you a recommendation list, but neither is rated yes on writing full articles, publishing to a CMS, repurposing or running an MCP server. When the tracking shows a client is missing from AI answers, the fix still gets made somewhere else.

DeepSmith puts that fix in the same place as the tracking. Multi-Workspace runs multiple brands or clients from one account, each fully isolated with its own context, content and plan. Each workspace is billed and limited independently, so a client's usage never mixes with another's. Inside a workspace, AI Visibility tracks mention rate, citation rate and share of voice, Opportunity Agents turn the gaps into ideas that carry their evidence, and the Writer produces a finished, brand-grounded article. Deep IQ holds that client's brand context, so the voice and product facts stay with the right client.

Finished articles land in Produced Content, where you review them and publish to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks.

Plans are Pro at $99 a month ($80 annually) with 50 tracked prompts and 20 articles, Grow at $199, Scale at $399 and a custom Enterprise plan, with a 7-day free trial and no long-term contracts.

Many client brands in one account

Ahrefs Brand Radar wins this one. It supports multiple saved reports, each with its own brand, competitors and market, and Ahrefs says index research on any brand has unlimited projects. The suite plans cap verified projects at 5, 20, 50 and 100 by tier, and the limits for someone who buys only Brand Radar are not stated, so it is worth asking before you plan around it.

HubSpot AEO supports one owned domain per setup. A second brand means prompt groups, the Brands add-on (its price is not stated) or another instance at $50 a month.

What DeepSmith does: Multi-Workspace gives each client a separate workspace with its own context, content and plan, and each one carries its own billing and limits. Adding a client means adding a workspace, and the client's tracked prompts, competitors and brand voice stay in it.

Reporting access for clients

Ahrefs Brand Radar wins on the data side, though neither tool documents white-label reporting. Brand Radar has a public API with 21 endpoints, a Looker Studio connector (the pricing page lists the integration from the Advanced plan), and CSV and Google Sheets exports. Extra suite seats cost $40 to $100 a month each depending on the tier, which matters if clients get logins. Ahrefs sells a Report Builder add-on at $99 a month with scheduling, and it is not described as white label.

HubSpot AEO has a beta read-only API for prompts, runs, answers, citations and recommendations, and its docs name Marketing Hub products, so it is unclear whether standalone buyers get it. Its data is also reachable through the HubSpot connector for Claude and ChatGPT with Super Admin approval. No export or BI connector is documented, and no alerts beyond a draft-ready notice.

What DeepSmith does: The REST API gives read-only access to a workspace's visibility data, Content Map, content library and Deep IQ assets, with scoped keys and 120 requests per minute per workspace. The MCP server has 23 read-only tools and one URL and API key per workspace, so an assistant like Claude or Cursor can be connected to one client's workspace at a time.

Per-client cost

HubSpot AEO is the cheaper way to start, and it scales in a straight line. Five clients on the standalone plan are five instances at $50 a month each, so $250 a month, each with 25 prompts on three engines. That is easy to quote to a client, but the cap and the engine list repeat for every brand. Getting blog drafts from recommendations needs Marketing Hub Professional, which starts at $800 a month billed annually plus a $3,000 one-time onboarding.

Ahrefs Brand Radar costs more up front, at $199 per index or $699 for all of them. Custom prompt packages run $50, $100 and $250 a month for 2,500, 7,000 and 25,000 checks, and a check is one prompt on one engine in one location for one update, so the cost follows how many prompts you track more than how many brands you serve. Whether it comes out ahead of HubSpot AEO depends on how many clients share the index research.

What DeepSmith does: Each workspace is billed and limited on its own plan, from Pro at $99 a month with 50 tracked prompts, 20 articles and 5 seats. A client that needs more tracking or more articles moves up a tier without changing anyone else's.

From insight to action

HubSpot AEO has the more complete path from insight to action of the two. Its recommendations carry a content type, channel, priority and projected citation lift, and a site audit checks pages against tracked prompts. Blog drafting is limited to Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, uses 1,000 HubSpot Credits per post and opens in the HubSpot blog editor, so a client on another CMS means copy and paste. Ahrefs Brand Radar stops at measurement, and its content tools are a separate Content Kit from $99 a month.

What DeepSmith does: Opportunity Agents return ideas with the data point that justifies each one, the Writer produces the article from the client's stored Deep IQ context, and Autowrite can generate it on a scheduled date. Publishing goes to the client's own CMS, and Apps Library turns the article into LinkedIn, newsletter and other channel versions. Tracking and production share the workspace, so nothing is rebuilt between the report and the article.

Which should you choose

Whether Ahrefs Brand Radar or HubSpot AEO for agencies is the better pick depends mostly on how many clients you run and whether they need content as well as tracking.

  • DeepSmith: agencies that want each client in an isolated workspace where visibility tracking and article production sit together, with publishing to the client's CMS and billing kept per workspace.
  • Ahrefs Brand Radar: agencies that already work in Ahrefs, mostly research and report on many brands, and want the API and Looker Studio connector. Check the standalone brand and seat limits first.
  • HubSpot AEO: agencies with one or two brands, or clients already on Marketing Hub, who want the lowest entry price and a trial without a card, and who can live with three engines and one domain per setup.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better for agencies, Ahrefs Brand Radar or HubSpot AEO?

For many clients, Ahrefs Brand Radar fits better. It keeps multiple saved reports and has a public API, while HubSpot AEO is set up per domain and bought per brand. For one or two brands, HubSpot AEO's $50 a month entry price and 28-day trial make it easier to start.

Does either tool offer white-label reporting?

Neither documents it. Ahrefs offers a Report Builder add-on and a Looker Studio connector, and HubSpot AEO has a beta read API, but neither is described as white label.

How does HubSpot AEO handle multiple clients?

One domain per setup. More brands use prompt groups, the Brands add-on or another $50 a month instance, and no agency program is documented.

Is there an alternative to both that handles client workspaces and writes the content?

DeepSmith. Multi-Workspace isolates each client's context, content and plan and bills each workspace independently, and the same platform tracks AI visibility and produces publish-ready articles.
