For an enterprise security review, HubSpot AEO has the stronger documented audit position, a platform-level SOC 2 Type II report, while Ahrefs Brand Radar has the stronger identity and data access, with SSO on its Enterprise plan and a full public API. Each is partial where the other is solid, and HubSpot AEO is still a beta product. DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified and has a documented read-only API and MCP server. It also writes and publishes full articles, which neither vendor's record rates as a full yes.
Ahrefs Brand Radar vs HubSpot AEO for enterprise teams looks different once a security questionnaire is on the table. Procurement teams tend to ask the same few things: which audit reports exist, whether staff can sign in with single sign-on, and whether the data can be pulled out through an API. Both tools answer some of that and leave other parts partial. This page covers only that job, and the full comparison covers features and pricing across the whole product. DeepSmith is a third option for teams that want certified trust and article production in one platform.
Ahrefs Brand Radar vs HubSpot AEO security: the short answer

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Ahrefs Brand Radar is the AI visibility module of the Ahrefs marketing platform. It measures how often AI engines mention and cite a brand, using a pre-collected index of 448M+ prompts plus custom prompts you track on a schedule. For a security review, its clearest points are SAML SSO on the Enterprise plan, multi-factor authentication on every account, and a Brand Radar API with 21 endpoints. The Ahrefs trust center also lists ISO 27001 (2022).
SOC 2 is where reviewers should slow down. The trust center lists it without a type or a date, and Ahrefs's own security-measures page describes SOC 2 as a future possibility, so no report could be verified. Data residency for Brand Radar isn't stated either. The review ratings belong to the whole Ahrefs suite, not to Brand Radar alone: 4.5/5 on G2 from 717 reviews, as checked in September 2026.
HubSpot AEO

HubSpot AEO launched in April 2026 and is sold on its own at $50 a month ($45 billed annually), or included in Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise. Its security story comes from HubSpot's platform. The HubSpot trust center lists SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1 Type II, SOC 3, HIPAA and GDPR, with an EU data center in Frankfurt and SAML SSO at the Enterprise tier. These are platform claims, and AEO is not named in the scope on the page.
The product is labeled beta, and HubSpot's pages don't say how answers are collected, which model versions run, or how long answers are kept. That matters for a data review, because the vendor can't tell you what it hasn't published. G2 shows 4.4/5 for HubSpot AEO from 145 reviews, as checked in September 2026.
DeepSmith: the alternative that is certified and publishes

Neither tool gives an enterprise buyer both halves of the question at once. HubSpot AEO has the audit report but a partial SSO and API story. Ahrefs Brand Radar has SSO and the API but an unverified SOC 2. DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified, and it reads and writes in the same workspace.

On access, the REST API is read-only and uses scoped keys (workspace:read, visibility:read, contentmap:read, content:read and iq:read), with 120 requests per minute per workspace, an OpenAPI spec, and no credits spent on reads. The MCP server exposes 23 read-only tools and never changes the workspace, and webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA256. Multi-Workspace keeps each brand or client fully isolated, with its own context, content and plan.
Then there is production. The Writer turns a planned idea into a finished, brand-grounded article with links, a cover image and publish-ready metadata, and Autowrite can run it on a schedule. Produced Content publishes straight to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks. Plans run $99, $199 and $399 a month ($80, $160 and $299 billed annually), plus custom Enterprise with 1:1 onboarding and a dedicated account manager.

Certifications and audit reports
HubSpot AEO wins on SOC 2, and Ahrefs Brand Radar wins on a documented ISO 27001.
HubSpot's platform SOC 2 Type II report is the most concrete audit evidence either vendor publishes. The catch is scope, since AEO isn't named in the report scope on the page, so ask HubSpot for the report and check that AEO sits inside it. Ahrefs lists SOC 2 and ISO 27001 on its trust center. The ISO 27001 (2022) claim has outside support, but the SOC 2 listing has no type or date, and the older security page still treats it as future work. In most cases a buyer would want to see the report itself before accepting a badge.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified. Those certifications are stated without a SOC 2 type or an ISO standard number, so your security team should request the documents the same way it would with any vendor.
Single sign-on and access control
Ahrefs Brand Radar wins on SSO, though only on its most expensive plan.
Ahrefs documents SSO and SAML on the Enterprise plan at $1,499 a month with an annual commitment, and multi-factor authentication on all accounts. HubSpot documents SAML SSO at the Enterprise tier of any hub, so for AEO that means Marketing Hub Enterprise, which starts at $3,600 a month. That tier also carries a $7,000 one-time onboarding fee. Whether standalone HubSpot AEO or Marketing Hub Professional includes SSO is not stated. Sign in with Google is available to every HubSpot customer.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith's product details don't list SSO. Access is organized through workspaces, where teammates join as owners or members, each workspace is isolated and billed on its own, and API and MCP access runs through scoped keys.
API and AI assistant access
Ahrefs Brand Radar wins on API access, and the two are close on assistants.
The Brand Radar API v3 covers AI responses, cited pages and domains, impressions, citations, mentions, share of voice and history, on paid plans from Lite, though availability for standalone Brand Radar buyers isn't stated. Ahrefs also runs a hosted MCP server over its API, and the pages don't say which Brand Radar data it exposes. HubSpot's AEO API is a beta read API for prompts, historical runs, answer text, citations and recommendations. It is read-only, and the docs name Marketing Hub products, so standalone eligibility is unclear. HubSpot also offers a connector for Claude and ChatGPT that needs Super Admin approval.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith's API and MCP server are documented at docs.deepsmith.ai and are read-only by design. The same scoped keys cover visibility data, the Content Map, the content library including article bodies, and Deep IQ assets, so a security team can grant each integration only the scope it needs.
Plans, onboarding and what the contract covers
HubSpot AEO is cheaper to start, and Ahrefs Brand Radar is cheaper to reach SSO.
HubSpot AEO standalone is $50 a month with a 28-day trial and no onboarding fee, but its SSO sits behind a suite price. Ahrefs has no free trial, and Brand Radar indexes cost $199 each per month or $699 for all, with the Enterprise suite plan at $1,499 for SSO, an account manager and tailored onboarding. For the writing side, Ahrefs sells its content tools as separate products, and HubSpot limits blog generation to Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, which also carries the onboarding fees above.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith publishes its prices, offers a 7-day free trial, and has no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. Tracking and article production share one plan, so a security review covers one vendor instead of a monitoring tool plus a separate writing tool.
Which should you choose
- DeepSmith fits enterprise teams that need certified trust, a scoped read-only API and MCP server, and one platform that tracks AI visibility and produces the articles that close the gaps.
- Ahrefs Brand Radar fits teams already on Ahrefs that need SSO and a full public API and can commit to the Enterprise plan, as long as the SOC 2 question gets a written answer.
- HubSpot AEO fits teams already on HubSpot Marketing Hub that want the platform SOC 2 Type II report and are fine with a beta product, one owned domain per setup, and three tracked engines.
