For an agency tracking many client domains, SE Ranking AI Visibility is the better fit of the two, because it has multi-brand projects, five engines, and API and MCP access on every plan. HubSpot AEO is cheaper to start but is set up per domain and per brand. DeepSmith is a strong alternative when clients need content as well as tracking, since it writes and publishes articles for each client, with every client in its own workspace.
If you run AI visibility for several clients, the choice between HubSpot AEO vs SE Ranking AI Visibility comes down to how each tool handles more than one domain and what it costs as the client list grows. HubSpot AEO is built around one brand and one domain per setup. SE Ranking AI Visibility sits inside a full SEO suite with projects for each client. DeepSmith covers the same tracking and also writes the articles that close the gaps it finds.
HubSpot AEO vs SE Ranking AI Visibility: the short answer
- Choose DeepSmith if you want to track AI visibility for each client and also produce and publish their content, with each client in its own workspace and plans starting at $99 a month.
- Choose HubSpot AEO if you are tracking one or two brands on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and want the lowest entry price, $50 a month with a 28-day trial that needs no card.
- Choose SE Ranking AI Visibility if you are an agency that wants rank tracking, audits and AI tracking in one suite, with 10 projects on Core at $129 a month and API and MCP access on every plan.

HubSpot AEO

HubSpot AEO is HubSpot's answer engine optimization tool, still labelled beta. It runs a set of tracked prompts every day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and reports brand visibility, sentiment, share of voice and citations against competitors. It is sold on its own at $50 a month ($45 billed annually) with 25 prompts and 2,500 answers a month, and it is included in Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise.
It is built for marketers who want an easy first step into AI visibility, and for teams that already pay for Marketing Hub. The standout is the entry price and the 28-day trial, which tracks 25 prompts with no card. G2 reviewers, who rate it 4.4/5 from 145 reviews as of September 2026, describe it as easy to set up and like the competitor reporting.
The real limits show up for agencies. HubSpot's documentation supports one owned domain per setup, and extra brands need a prompt group, the Brands add-on or another $50 a month instance. It does not document white-label reporting, client workspaces or an agency plan. Blog drafting from recommendations is limited to Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, which start at $800 a month billed annually plus a $3,000 one-time onboarding fee on Professional. Reviewers also mention the 25-prompt cap, the missing Claude coverage and recommendations that read as generic.
SE Ranking AI Visibility

SE Ranking AI Visibility is the AI Search Toolkit inside the SE Ranking SEO platform. Its AI Results Tracker covers five engines: Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. It captures answers through the user interface each day and reports mentions, links, positions, cited sources and competitors. You can buy it inside the Core plan at $129 a month ($103.20 billed annually) with 100 prompts tracked daily, inside Growth at $279 a month, through an AI Search add-on, or as the separate SE Visible product.
It is built for SEO teams and agencies that want rank tracking, audits and AI tracking in one place. The standout is the agency fit: 10 projects on Core, 30 on Growth, and API and MCP access on every plan. SE Ranking also publishes how it collects and counts answers, which is rare in this category.
The limits are packaging and gaps. The three ways to buy AI tracking use different units, and the pricing page does not say how plan prompts and add-on checks combine. Sentiment lives in SE Visible rather than the AI Results Tracker, and SE Ranking publishes no SOC 2, ISO or SSO details. Claude is not tracked. G2 reviewers rate the suite 4.7/5 from 1,606 reviews, but that score covers the whole SE Ranking platform and not the AI product. AI-specific reviewers ask for more flexible ways to organize prompts and sources by client or market.
DeepSmith: the alternative that writes and publishes for each client

Both tools stop at the same place for an agency. They tell you where a client is invisible, and the work of fixing it happens somewhere else. HubSpot AEO can draft a blog post from a recommendation, but only on Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, and the post opens in the HubSpot blog editor. SE Ranking has a suite-level writer, though it is not tied to the AI visibility data. Neither record shows the full path from a visibility gap to a published, on-brand article.
DeepSmith puts that path on one platform. It tracks how AI engines answer questions about a client's brand, reporting mention rate, citation rate, share of voice and sentiment. Opportunity Agents then turn those gaps into content ideas that each carry the data point behind them. The Writer turns a planned idea into a finished article that is researched, internally and externally linked, and comes with a cover image and publish-ready metadata. Autowrite can run the whole thing on a schedule without anyone in the app. Produced Content then publishes straight to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks, so the article lands in the client's CMS and not in yours. Apps Library turns the same article into LinkedIn, X, newsletter and other versions.

Each client sits in its own workspace through Multi-Workspace, with its own context, content and plan, and each workspace is billed and limited independently. Deep IQ stores that client's company, products, personas, voice and content types, so articles sound like the client and do not mix with another account. Plans start at $99 a month for Pro with 50 tracked prompts and 20 articles a month, and run to $199 for Grow with 40 articles and $399 for Scale with 90. All plans carry a 7-day free trial and no long-term contract. DeepSmith's plans don't include white-label reporting, so client reporting can be built from the read-only API or MCP server.

Multi-client setup and workspaces
On HubSpot AEO vs SE Ranking AI Visibility for agencies, SE Ranking is the stronger of the two for running several client domains. Core includes 10 projects and Growth includes 30, with an account-wide prompt pool, and the Agency Pack add-on at $69 a month (annual billing only) adds 30 client seats, white label and scheduled reporting. SE Visible, the standalone product, also supports multiple brands and clients, though it has no white label yet.
HubSpot AEO has no comparable structure. Each setup covers one brand and one owned domain, so an agency with eight clients buys eight $50 instances or works with prompt groups and the Brands add-on, whose price is not listed. In both cases HubSpot's documentation lists no client logins, no white-label output and no agency plan. The prompt allowance also does not pool: each instance carries its own 25 prompts.
What DeepSmith does: Each client gets a separate workspace with its own brand context, content library and plan, so nothing carries across accounts. You can invite teammates as owners or members, and each workspace is billed on its own plan.
Pricing as the client list grows
In an SE Ranking AI Visibility vs HubSpot AEO cost check, HubSpot AEO has the lowest starting price and the steepest slope for an agency. At $50 an instance, five clients cost $250 a month ($225 billed annually) and ten cost $500, before any extra prompts at $20 a month for each 10. Moving to Marketing Hub Professional does not help much, since it covers one owned domain per setup and starts at $800 a month annually.
SE Ranking costs more at the start and flattens out. Core at $129 a month covers 10 projects, and Growth at $279 covers 30. The catch is that the 100 daily prompts on Core are shared across the account, so ten clients split evenly get about ten prompts each. Larger prompt volumes mean Growth, which has 250, or an AI Search add-on at $89 to $345 a month. SE Ranking says there is no automatic overage: when a limit is reached, new prompts are blocked until it renews or you upgrade.
For a small client list, HubSpot AEO is cheaper. For ten or more clients on a shared prompt pool, SE Ranking works out lower per client.
What DeepSmith does: Pricing follows the workspace. Each client workspace runs on its own plan, with Pro at $99 a month ($80 annually) for 50 prompts and 20 articles, so the cost of a client includes the tracking and the content, and you can match the plan to what that client needs.
Engine coverage and tracking depth
SE Ranking leads here. It tracks five engines, including both Google AI surfaces, with country, location and language settings per engine, and region targeting applies to the Google engines. It also records the position of a mention inside an answer, links versus unlinked mentions, and the cited URLs. It keeps full answer text for 30 days and presence metrics for a year.
HubSpot AEO tracks three engines and measures visibility score, sentiment on a -100 to +100 scale, share of voice and citations by domain and URL, including a list of its top owned citations. It does not document a position metric, a country selector or how answers are collected. Neither tool tracks Claude. HubSpot does win on sentiment inside the main product, since SE Ranking keeps sentiment in SE Visible.
If your clients sell in more than one country, the per-engine location settings in SE Ranking matter more than any metric in the HubSpot list.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith tracks up to ten engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Grok, Meta AI, Microsoft Copilot and DeepSeek. Pro covers ChatGPT, Grow adds Perplexity, Scale adds Gemini, and Enterprise covers all ten. Its Pages view shows which of a client's pages AI cites and the prompts driving those citations.
Reporting, API and MCP access
SE Ranking is again ahead on this axis. It documents an AI Results Tracker Project API and an AI Search Data API, a hosted MCP server with more than 180 tools, and Report Builder with AI metrics. It also lists Looker Studio, GA4, Search Console and Matomo integrations, and routes AI data to AgencyAnalytics and Whatagraph. API and MCP access come with every plan, and fetching prompt answers costs no credits.
HubSpot AEO has a beta read API, labelled 2026-09-beta, whose documentation names Marketing Hub products, so standalone eligibility is not clear. It also works through the HubSpot connector for Claude and ChatGPT, which needs Super Admin approval. No BI connector or export for AEO data is documented.
What DeepSmith does: A read-only REST API with scoped keys returns visibility, Content Map, content library and Deep IQ data at 120 requests a minute, and reads spend no credits. The MCP server has 23 read-only tools and works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other assistants, with one URL and API key per workspace, so each client's data stays separate.
From insight to action
Neither HubSpot AEO nor SE Ranking AI Visibility is built around producing client articles. Of the two, HubSpot AEO goes further inside its own product, since it offers prioritized recommendations with projected citation lift, a site audit and content briefs, and drafts a blog post from a recommendation on Marketing Hub plans. SE Ranking gives recommendations on sources and platforms, and its writing tools sit in the suite apart from the AI tracker.
For an agency, HubSpot's path has two problems. It needs Marketing Hub, which is a much larger purchase than the $50 tool, and the draft publishes to a HubSpot blog, so a client on another CMS means copy and paste.
What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith turns each visibility gap into a planned idea with its evidence attached, writes the article in the client's stored voice, and publishes it to the client's CMS. Opportunity Agents supply the ideas, the Writer and Autowrite produce the articles, and the Apps Library repurposes each one into social and email versions. The loop from tracking to a published page runs inside a single workspace for each client.
Which should you choose
- DeepSmith fits agencies that sell content results along with tracking and want one workspace per client that tracks AI visibility, writes the articles, publishes them to the client's CMS and repurposes them for social, all on plans starting at $99 a month with a 7-day trial.
- HubSpot AEO fits a team with one or two brands, or a company already on Marketing Hub Professional, that wants a low-cost start on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and accepts one domain per setup.
- SE Ranking AI Visibility fits an SEO agency that already runs rank tracking and audits for clients and wants projects, API and MCP access and optional white-label reporting in one suite.
Between HubSpot AEO or SE Ranking AI Visibility for a multi-domain agency, SE Ranking is the better choice in most cases, because it has the structure for a client list and HubSpot does not.
