Two layered cards in white linework on charcoal, one holding separate clusters of linked nodes and the other a stack of report pages with bar charts, under the cover line Agency AI Visibility, Compared.

For agencies, Profound handles multiple brands fully but offers only partial white-label reporting, while the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit offers white-label reporting but only partial multi-brand handling. Profound suits agencies with many client brands, and Semrush suits agencies already working in Semrush reports. DeepSmith gives each client an isolated workspace with its own Deep IQ context, content and plan, and each workspace produces publish-ready articles, so the agency delivers content, not just a report.

If you run AI visibility for several clients, the choice in Profound vs Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit for agencies comes down to two things the clients actually see: how their brands are kept apart, and how the results get to them. Each tool covers one of those fully and the other only in part. DeepSmith sits next to both with a different answer, because every client gets a workspace that tracks and writes. The full comparison of the two tools is a separate page, so this one stays on the agency job.

Profound

Profound's homepage, showing its AI marketing platform for tracking and acting on AI search visibility.

Profound is an AI marketing platform that tracks how ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and other engines mention and cite a brand. It also runs agents that draft and publish content from that data. For agencies it sells a self-serve Agency Growth plan, priced per client workspace, with 400 AI Marketer credits per month for each one. Its agencies page describes centralized client management and per-client workspaces.

The standout for this job is the multi-brand setup, which is a clear yes in the record. The limits are on the reporting and pricing side. Profound documents client-ready sharing, such as public Custom Dashboard links and external sharing of its documents, but no white-label branding. The Agency Growth dollar price is shown only behind the "For agencies" toggle, and paid plans in general are not public. API access is Enterprise only and on request.

On G2 it holds 4.5/5 from 1,130 reviews, checked in late September 2026. Reviewers praise the visibility and citation analytics and the competitor benchmarking. The complaints are price, a learning curve, and wanting more customizable reporting, which matters for an agency.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit page, showing the toolkit inside the wider Semrush platform.

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit sits inside the Semrush platform and measures how often ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity mention and cite a brand. It adds competitor gaps, prompt research, sentiment and daily prompt tracking. It costs $99 per month standalone, or comes bundled with the SEO Toolkit in Semrush One at $199 to $549 per month.

The standout for agencies is reporting. According to Semrush, its AI visibility reports feed My Reports, with PDF export, scheduling and shareable dashboards, and the Pro Report add-on at $20 per month covers branding and white-labeling. The limits are in the setup. The standalone plan has 25 tracked prompts, one Brand Performance domain and one user, and multi-brand handling is described as an Enterprise feature.

Semrush's ratings are for the whole suite, not this toolkit: 4.4/5 on G2 from 4,046 reviews, checked in late September 2026. Suite reviewers describe the price and paid add-ons as expensive and mention a learning curve.

DeepSmith: the alternative that gives each client a workspace and the content to fill it

DeepSmith's homepage, showing one platform for AI search analytics and content production.

Both tools leave the same gap for an agency. Profound gives you the client separation, and Semrush gives you the client-facing report, but a report only describes where a client stands. What moves a client's visibility is the content that closes the gaps, and neither tool gives an agency a simple way to produce that for every client at once. Profound's agents write drafts behind a human approval step, and the Semrush toolkit does not write content at all.

DeepSmith's Multi-Workspace runs multiple brands or clients from one account, each fully isolated with its own Deep IQ context, content and plan. Deep IQ holds the client's company, products, personas, brand voice, visual guidelines and content types, so every article is grounded in that client and not in the one before it. Inside each workspace, AI Visibility tracks mention rate, citation rate, share of voice and sentiment across engines, shows which of the client's pages get cited, and ranks competitors. Opportunity Agents turn those gaps into ideas that carry their evidence, and the Writer produces publish-ready articles with internal and external links, a cover image and metadata. Autowrite can run it on a schedule.

Each workspace is billed and limited independently, and plans start at $99 per month with a 7-day free trial and no long-term contracts.

Multi-brand handling

Profound wins this one. Its record shows multiple brands and categories per organization, domain segments, multi-brand dashboards and per-client workspaces on Agency Growth, against a partial score for Semrush.

The Semrush limits show up quickly as the roster grows. Brand Performance covers one domain per plan, and extra domains or locations cost $99 per month each. Visibility Overview works for any domain, so a pitch or a quick benchmark is easy, but ongoing per-client tracking has to be added a domain at a time. Every added user needs their own $99 toolkit license too, since shared limits do not apply.

What DeepSmith does: Multi-Workspace keeps each client fully isolated, with its own Deep IQ context, content and plan, and each workspace is billed and limited on its own. A client's voice, personas and competitors stay in that client's workspace.

Client reporting

Semrush wins this one, because white-label reporting is a documented yes and Profound's is partial. Semrush's reports can be branded and white-labeled with the Pro Report add-on, scheduled, exported to PDF and shared by link. Profound can share client-ready dashboards by public link and share documents externally, and its assistant can draft client-ready analysis, but no branded white-label output is described.

The Semrush route has a cost that is easy to miss. The branding lives in a paid add-on, and the report is only as good as the tracking behind it, which covers 25 prompts on the standalone plan and 50, 100 or 200 on Semrush One.

What DeepSmith does: Each workspace reports mention rate, citation rate, share of voice, sentiment and trend, the competitor leaderboard, and the pages AI actually cites. White-label report branding is not what DeepSmith is built around. It is built so that the thing you report on, the content, is produced in the same workspace.

Data access and pricing

Profound wins on data access, and Semrush wins on price you can see. Profound has a REST API with raw per-execution answers, prompts and reports at 600 requests per hour per key, plus an MCP server, though the API is Enterprise only and on request. Semrush's API documents SEO, projects, local and trends endpoints, with no AI visibility endpoints, and its MCP data scope lists SEO, traffic and backlink data.

For pricing, Semrush publishes its numbers: $99 standalone and $199 to $549 for the bundles. Profound's Agency Growth is priced per client workspace behind the toggle, and we could not confirm a current rate. A November 2025 launch post listed $399 per month for an additional client workspace, but that is a dated launch term and not a verified current price, so check the toggle before you plan around it.

What DeepSmith does: The REST API is read-only, with scoped keys per workspace, 120 requests per minute, and reads that spend no credits. The MCP server has 23 read-only tools and one URL and API key per workspace, so a client's data can feed your own reporting. Plan prices are published, from $99 to $399 per month, with a custom Enterprise tier.

From insight to action

Profound wins this one. Its agents draft briefs and full articles from brand context and can publish approved drafts to CMSs such as WordPress, Sanity, Contentful and Webflow, with a human approval step before anything goes live. Semrush's toolkit measures and recommends but does not write, and Semrush says acting on the insights happens manually or with other toolkits.

For an agency this is where the margin sits. Reporting tells a client what is wrong, and only content changes it, so the tool that produces the content across the roster takes work off your team.

What DeepSmith does: The Writer turns a planned idea into a finished, brand-grounded article, researched, linked, with a cover image and publish-ready metadata, and it lands in Produced Content for review. You can publish straight to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks. Tracking and production share one data set in each client's workspace, so the gap the tracker finds is the brief the Writer works from.

Which should you choose

Here is how Profound or Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit for agencies breaks down, with DeepSmith first.

  • DeepSmith: the agency that wants every client in their own workspace, tracking and producing publish-ready content from the same data, with published prices from $99 per month and a free trial to test it on a real client.
  • Profound: the agency with many client brands that wants fully handled multi-brand setup and agents, and is comfortable asking for agency pricing and living with partial white-label reporting.
  • Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: the agency already living in Semrush that mainly needs branded, scheduled client reports for a small number of domains, and does not need the toolkit to write anything.

Frequently asked questions

Is Profound or Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit for agencies the better fit?

It depends on which gap hurts more. Profound handles multiple brands and client workspaces fully, and Semrush handles white-label reporting fully. Each is partial on the other, so agencies with many brands lean toward Profound and agencies that need branded reports lean toward Semrush.

Does Profound offer white-label reporting?

Profound documents client-ready sharing through public dashboard links and external document sharing, but no white-label branding is described. Treat it as partial and confirm with Profound if branded output is a requirement.

Can the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit handle several client brands?

Only partly. The standalone plan covers one Brand Performance domain, extra domains cost $99 per month each, and multi-brand handling is described as an Enterprise feature.

Is there an alternative to Profound and Semrush that also handles client reporting and content?

DeepSmith. Multi-Workspace keeps each client isolated with its own Deep IQ context, content and plan, and each workspace tracks AI visibility and produces publish-ready articles, so you deliver the content as well as the report.
