Peec AI is a standalone tracker with more modules from its $95 entry plan, including query fan-out and AI referral traffic. SE Ranking AI Visibility comes inside an SEO suite from $129 a month, tracks five engines at entry and includes API and MCP access on every plan. DeepSmith is the alternative for teams that want tracking and article production on one public plan, so the spend also covers the content that closes the gaps.

If you are adding AI visibility tracking to an SEO stack, the first question in Peec AI vs SE Ranking AI Visibility is whether you want a separate tool or one that sits inside a suite you may already pay for. Peec AI sells tracking on its own, and SE Ranking puts it inside its SEO platform. The prices look close, but they buy different things. DeepSmith is a third route, since it tracks AI answers and writes the articles that respond to them.

Peec AI vs SE Ranking AI Visibility: the short answer

  • Choose DeepSmith if you want tracking and publish-ready articles on one self-serve plan, starting at $99 a month with a 7-day free trial.
  • Choose Peec AI if you want a standalone tracker from $95 a month and need query fan-out, AI referral traffic or crawler analytics, which SE Ranking does not list.
  • Choose SE Ranking AI Visibility if you already use or want an SEO suite, since Core at $129 a month includes 100 daily prompts on five engines, with API and MCP on every plan.

Peec AI

Peec AI homepage showing its AI search analytics tagline for marketing teams.

Peec AI is a Berlin company founded in January 2025 that sells AI search analytics as a standalone product. It runs your tracked prompts through AI engines every day, mostly by scraping their consumer interfaces, and reports visibility, position, sentiment, share of voice and the sources each answer cites. It is built for SEO, content and marketing teams and for agencies with several client brands, who want daily tracking at a published price and are fine doing the content work themselves.

Starter costs $95 a month for 50 prompts, one project, unlimited users and three active models chosen from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. The standout is how much comes with that entry plan. Query fan-out, AI shopping, an ads library, brand attribute scoring, crawlability checks, AI referral visits, prioritized Actions and an MCP server are all listed on Starter, and the higher plans mostly add volume.

The limits are real too. Perplexity is a paid add-on on the self-serve plans, Claude and several other engines appear only on Enterprise, and Peec says outright that you create the content yourself. It has no SOC 2 report as of September 2026. G2 shows 4.8/5 from 20 reviews as checked on September 29, 2026, with praise for the interface, setup and support. That is a small base, so I would treat it as a good sign and nothing more.

SE Ranking AI Visibility

SE Ranking is an SEO platform founded in 2013, and its AI Search Toolkit tracks how a brand is mentioned, linked and positioned in answers from Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. It captures answers through the interface daily and reports mentions, links, positions, cited sources, competitors and recommendations. It suits SEO teams and agencies that want AI tracking next to rank tracking, audits and reporting.

There are three ways to buy it. Core is $129 a month with 100 prompts tracked daily and Growth is $279 with 250. An AI Search add-on runs $89 to $345 a month for 200 to 1,000 monthly checks, and SE Visible is a standalone product from $99. API and MCP access come with every plan, which is a real strength at this price.

The packaging takes some work to follow, because plans count daily prompts while the add-on counts monthly checks. Claude and Microsoft Copilot are not tracked. Sentiment sits in SE Visible, and query fan-out and AI traffic analytics are marked as coming soon. G2 shows 4.7/5 from 1,606 reviews on September 30, 2026, but that score covers the whole SE Ranking suite, not the AI product, so it tells you little about this part of it.

DeepSmith: the alternative that tracks and writes

DeepSmith homepage showing its AI search analytics and content production platform.

Peec AI does not write content, and SE Ranking's writing tools sit at the suite level, separate from its AI tracking product. Both are good at showing you where you are missing from AI answers. Neither one's tracking is built to hand that gap straight to a writer, so the next step ends up as a second subscription, a freelancer or a few hours of your own time.

DeepSmith puts both halves on one plan. The AEO module tracks mention rate, citation rate and share of voice across engines, shows which of your pages AI cites, and shows which competitor pages win the citations you want. Opportunity Agents read that data and return content ideas, each with the data point that justifies it. Those ideas move through New Ideas and Planned Content to the Writer, which turns a planned idea into a finished article that is researched, linked internally and externally, and comes with a cover image and publish-ready metadata. Deep IQ stores your company, product, persona, voice and content-type context once, so every article is grounded in it. Autowrite can run the whole thing on a schedule.

Finished articles land in Produced Content, where you review them and publish straight to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks. Every figure in these two product screenshots is demo data, not a customer result.

Pricing is published. Pro is $99 a month ($80 billed annually) with 20 articles, 50 tracked prompts, 5 seats and ChatGPT. Grow is $199 ($160 annually) with 40 articles, 100 prompts, 7 seats, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Scale is $399 ($299 annually) with 90 articles, 200 prompts, 10 seats, and ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Enterprise covers all ten engines with custom limits. There is a 7-day free trial and no long-term contract, and DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified and rated 4.8/5 on G2. Developer access includes a read-only REST API and an MCP server with 23 read-only tools.

Pricing and value

On entry price, Peec AI wins by a small margin, at $95 a month against $129 for SE Ranking Core. That gap is the price of the suite. If you do not want rank tracking, audits and the rest of the SEO platform, the Peec AI vs SE Ranking AI Visibility pricing comparison favors Peec, because you are not paying for tools you will not open. If you already pay for SE Ranking, or were about to, the AI tracking in Core costs you nothing extra, which is the "without paying twice" case.

The units differ, so the plans are hard to line up one to one. Peec Starter gives 50 prompts on three models, which Peec counts as 4,500 AI answers a month. SE Ranking Core gives 100 prompts tracked daily on five engines. At the next step up, Peec Pro is $245 for 150 prompts and two projects, while SE Ranking Growth is $279 for 250 prompts and 30 projects. Annual billing brings Peec Starter to about $80 a month, a figure read from its page on September 4, 2026, and Core to $103.20.

Extras change the totals. Adding Perplexity to a Peec plan costs $35, $85 or $165 a month on Starter, Pro and Advanced when billed monthly ($30, $70 and $140 billed annually). On the SE Ranking side, extra manager seats start at $16, and an Agency Pack for white label reporting is $69 a month on annual billing. Peec's trial length is not stated on its current pages, while SE Ranking offers 14 days with no credit card.

What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith's price covers tracking and articles together. Pro at $99 a month includes 20 articles and 50 tracked prompts, so the budget you would otherwise split between a tracker and a writing tool sits on one plan with one bill.

Engine coverage

At entry level, SE Ranking AI Visibility wins on engine coverage, because all five of its engines are on Core, including both Google surfaces, Gemini and Perplexity. Peec Starter tracks three engines of your choice from a list of six, and that list leaves out Perplexity unless you pay for it. The picture flips at the top. Peec lists Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and several others on Enterprise and its larger agency plans, while SE Ranking stays at five, with no Claude and no Copilot.

Both vendors say they collect answers by capturing what the consumer interface shows, which is a reasonable method, though the answers still vary from run to run. That is a good reason to look at trends over several weeks and not a single day.

Tracking depth and data method

Peec AI wins on depth. It shows the sub-queries engines ran before answering, which SE Ranking does not list, and it reports visits that arrive from AI assistants, which SE Ranking marks as coming soon. Peec also monitors AI bot visits to your site through log connectors such as Cloudflare and Vercel, a capability the SE Ranking record does not list at all. It adds AI shopping, an ads library and brand attribute scoring on every brand plan.

SE Ranking has its own strengths here. Its pages document how mentions and links are matched and how checks are counted, and it keeps full answer text for 30 days and presence metrics for a year. It also tracks ads in ChatGPT and AI Mode answers. Peec says a prompt view shows the latest 100 chats, but it does not state how long older answers are kept.

Competitor and citation analysis

This one is close to a split. Peec wins on tracking competitors against the same prompts, since its plans list unlimited competitors, and its gap analysis shows sources that name competitors and not you. SE Ranking's AI Competitor Research can look at any domain's AI presence without you tracking prompts for it, with 5 domains on Core and 15 on Growth.

Both report cited sources at the URL level, both show which of your own pages earn citations, and both calculate share of voice. For a team that mostly wants to see who beats them and where, the SE Ranking AI Visibility vs Peec AI choice here comes down to how many rivals you track every day versus how many you want to look up.

What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith tracks which competitor pages win citations for your prompts, shows how each competitor performs by platform, and maps competitor sites onto your own topics in the Content Map. The coverage gaps it finds feed the ideas the Writer turns into articles.

Data access and security

SE Ranking wins on data access. The API and a hosted MCP server with 180-plus tools come with every plan, and Looker Studio, GA4 and Search Console integrations are listed on Core and Growth. Peec includes MCP and CSV exports on every brand plan, but its customer API is documented as beta and Enterprise only, even though the pricing grid shows it from Pro.

On security, neither tool gives a buyer much to lean on yet. Peec said in January 2026 that it was pursuing SOC 2 and offers SAML SSO on Enterprise. SE Ranking states no certification or SSO on the pages reviewed, which is an absence of evidence and not proof that it has none.

What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified. Its read-only REST API and 23-tool MCP server let an AI assistant analyze visibility, competitors and the content library in conversation.

From insight to action

SE Ranking AI Visibility wins this axis between the two, narrowly. Its insights point to untracked AI Overview keywords and to sources that mention competitors but not you, and the wider suite includes an AI Writer and a Content Marketing tool, with 25 articles on Core and 50 on Growth. Those tools are not tied to the AI visibility data, so you carry the finding over yourself.

Peec's Actions are specific and ranked by a Relative Opportunity Score, and they are included on every plan. Peec says plainly that you create the content yourself, and briefs or page rewrites happen only if you ask an outside assistant through its MCP server.

What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith closes the loop in one product. Opportunity Agents turn visibility gaps into evidence-backed ideas, the Writer produces the article from your Deep IQ context, and Produced Content publishes it to your CMS. Autowrite can carry an idea from a scheduled date to a finished article without anyone opening the app.

Which should you choose

  • DeepSmith fits marketing teams that want to see where they show up in AI answers and then publish the content that fixes it, without stitching a tracker and a writing tool together. It works for in-house teams and agencies, from a $99 Pro plan up to Enterprise coverage of all ten engines.
  • Peec AI is the better pick in the choice between Peec AI or SE Ranking AI Visibility if you want a standalone tracker, you care about query fan-out, AI referral traffic or crawler analytics, and your team will handle the writing separately.
  • SE Ranking AI Visibility fits SEO teams and agencies that already run rank tracking and audits, want five engines at entry and want API and MCP access included, and are happy to treat AI tracking as one part of a bigger suite.
