Clearscope vs Anyword: Do You Need Draft Grading or Performance Predictions?

Clearscope grades long-form drafts against the pages already ranking for a query and tracks brand mentions in AI answers, so it suits teams that write and refine search articles. Anyword writes short-form channel copy and scores variations with a predicted performance number, so it suits teams that ship ads, emails and social posts. DeepSmith is a strong alternative on one axis, scheduled production: Autowrite writes publish-ready articles on their planned dates, and Repurpose turns each one into channel posts.

Clearscope vs Anyword is mostly a question about what your team ships. One tool is built around articles that have to rank, and the other is built around short copy that has to get clicks. Both are priced for teams, and neither does the whole job alone if you need search content and channel copy every week. DeepSmith covers both from one piece of content, which is why it shows up in this comparison too.

Clearscope vs Anyword: the short answer

  • Choose DeepSmith if you want publish-ready, AEO-formatted articles written and published on their planned dates from $99 a month, with AI visibility tracking and channel posts coming from the same platform.
  • Choose Clearscope if your writers draft long-form SEO articles themselves and want a live grade against the top-ranking pages, from $129 a month with a 14-day trial.
  • Choose Anyword if your team writes ads, emails and social posts all day and wants a predicted performance score on each variation, from $49 a month.

Clearscope

Clearscope homepage, showing the SEO content optimization platform.

Clearscope is an SEO content optimization tool for teams that write and refresh articles themselves. Its center is the Content Grade, a real-time score that rates a draft on how well it uses the terms found in the top-ranking pages for a query. Around that editor it offers Topic Exploration for research, a guided AI draft, Content Inventory for watching published pages through Search Console, and Query Tracking, which reports how often your brand is mentioned in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude answers.

It works inside Google Docs and WordPress, and every plan includes unlimited users. Public plans are $129 a month for Essentials and $399 a month for Business, plus a custom Enterprise tier. Both public plans include 20 Drafts a month, so the extra money at Business buys more tracked queries (300 instead of 50), more pages and more Topic Explorations, not more drafts.

The standout is how well the grading, research and monitoring fit together for people who write for search. The limit is scope. Clearscope's own pages describe drafts as one at a time, and the records show no short-form copy templates, no bulk generation, no public API and no CMS publishing from the tool itself. Security is also thin on the public side, since no trust page or SOC 2 statement turned up, and SSO is Enterprise only.

Reviewers like the ease of use and the support. Clearscope is rated 4.9/5 on G2 from 92 reviews and 4.9/5 on Capterra from 60, checked in September 2026. The most common complaint is price, mostly from smaller teams.

Anyword

Anyword homepage, showing the AI marketing copy platform.

Anyword is an AI copy platform for marketing, demand gen and social teams. It writes ads, social posts, emails, website copy and blog posts, and it attaches a Predictive Performance Score to each variation. The company says the score is trained on millions of A/B tests and picks the better of two variations 82% of the time. That is a vendor claim, and no independent test of it turned up.

Every plan includes the Data-Driven Editor, more than 100 templates, the Blog Wizard, Brand Voice, a Chrome extension and 30+ languages. Starter is $49 a month ($39 billed yearly) and Data-Driven is $99 ($79 yearly) with three seats. Words are unlimited, but scoring is not: predictions are capped at 50 a month on Starter and 100 on Data-Driven with monthly billing. Channel integrations, copy analytics, custom-trained models and website A/B testing sit on Business, which has no public price, and the API and private LLM are Enterprise only.

The standout is short-form copy with scoring built in. The real limitation is search work. Its SEO score looks at target keywords, readability and originality, and the records describe no keyword volume data, no analysis of top-ranking pages and no internal linking. CMS export is listed for Drupal and Sitecore only, both in Beta.

Anyword is rated 4.8/5 on G2 from 1,228 reviews and 4.8/5 on Capterra from 391. Reviewers describe it as easy to start with, and some say long-form output is repetitive and needs editing.

DeepSmith: the alternative that writes and publishes on schedule

DeepSmith homepage, showing the platform for AI search analytics and content production.

Look at what Clearscope and Anyword leave open for a team that needs both search content and channel copy. Clearscope grades a draft that a person still has to write, one at a time, and the records show no way to schedule or publish from it. Anyword generates short copy in volume, and its CSV templates bulk-generate copy, but bulk generation of full articles is not described and CMS export is limited to two Beta connections. Neither one decides what to write next from AI answers, and neither turns an article into the posts that promote it.

DeepSmith closes that gap with a production loop. You plan an idea, give it a date, and Autowrite writes it on that date with no one in the app. The Writer produces a finished article that is researched, linked internally and externally, and comes with a cover image and publish-ready metadata, grounded in your Deep IQ brand context so the voice and product facts stay consistent. From Produced Content you review it or publish straight to WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, or to your own webhooks. SEO and AEO formatting are part of the writing pipeline, not a pass after it. Repurpose then gives each article social posts already written, and the Apps Library adapts it for LinkedIn, X, Medium, Substack, email, Reddit and other channels in the same voice. DeepSmith doesn't grade a draft term by term or score copy variations with a predicted number, and it puts its effort into the step after the idea, which is getting a finished article live and then into your channels.

The tracking side runs on the same data. DeepSmith checks the prompts you define across AI engines, reports mention rate, citation rate and share of voice, shows which of your pages get cited, and its Opportunity Agents turn gaps into ideas that each carry the data point behind them. Those ideas land in New Ideas, which is where the loop starts again.

Pricing is published. Pro is $99 a month ($80 billed yearly) with 20 articles, 50 tracked prompts and 5 seats. Grow is $199 ($160 yearly) with 40 articles, 100 prompts and 7 seats. Scale is $399 ($299 yearly) with 90 articles, 200 prompts and 10 seats. Enterprise is custom. There is a 7-day free trial and no long-term contract.

Draft grading and search research

Clearscope wins this axis between the two, and by a wide margin. It scrapes the top-ranking results when you create a draft, weights terms by how often they show up there, and updates the grade as you write. It also groups results by intent and flags SERP features such as AI Overviews, and its Topic Exploration shows search volume, impressions, CPC and competition. It does not show a keyword difficulty metric, and some reviewers ask for stronger keyword research.

Anyword has a Blog Wizard that writes a post from a topic or brief, with an SEO score and a plagiarism checker. You enter your own target keywords, and the score is not measured against what ranks. That is fine for a team that already knows its keywords and wants a quick post, and it is thin for a team that wants evidence about what the top results contain.

What DeepSmith does: the Writer builds keyword coverage, heading structure, internal links and metadata into the article as it is written, so there is less to grade afterward. The Content Map shows where your site has coverage gaps and untapped topics against competitors, and each idea from an Opportunity Agent carries its evidence into planning.

Performance prediction and channel copy

In the Anyword vs Clearscope matchup, Anyword wins this axis, because Clearscope does not list short-form copy at all. Anyword's templates cover ads, social, email, landing pages and product descriptions, and its score is part of generation rather than a separate step. Brand Voice holds a tone, a messaging bank, target audiences, vocabulary and rules, with one brand voice on Starter and Data-Driven and five on Business. It supports 30+ languages and works inside ChatGPT, Google Docs, Notion, Canva and LinkedIn through the Chrome extension.

The caveats are the cap on predictions and where the data-connected features sit. Scoring is limited per month even though words are not, and the features that learn from your past campaigns start on the quoted Business plan. Reviewers also report that specialist and long-form pieces take editing.

What DeepSmith does: Repurpose turns a finished article into channel posts in the same stored brand voice, and every article arrives with social posts already written. For a team whose channel copy is mostly promoting its own content, that covers the work without a second tool.

AI visibility tracking

This one is close to a tie on the basic idea, since Clearscope tracks AI mentions and the Anyword records show no tracking of AI answers. Clearscope's Query Tracking reports a mention percentage per query across ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, with your domain and up to five competitor domains, a 21-response rolling average and a 90-day trend. It is included on every plan, with 50 tracked queries on Essentials and 300 on Business. The pricing page names ChatGPT and Gemini while product pages add Claude, and the collection method and sampling schedule are not published, so treat the engine list as a little uncertain.

What DeepSmith does: DeepSmith tracks ten engines across its plans, with ChatGPT on Pro, Perplexity added on Grow and Gemini added on Scale. It reports mention rate, citation rate, share of voice, sentiment and trend, and it shows which competitor pages win citations for your prompts. Those findings feed the ideas that Autowrite then produces.

Pricing and value

Anyword is the cheapest way in, and Clearscope is the most expensive of the two at entry. Anyword's $49 Starter ($39 yearly) comes with unlimited words and 50 predictions a month, and Clearscope's $129 Essentials comes with 20 Drafts, 20 Topic Explorations, 50 pages and 50 tracked queries. Clearscope shows no annual price on its pricing page, and Anyword's higher tiers are quoted. If Clearscope's price is the sticking point, there are several Clearscope alternatives to compare. For Anyword, the Anyword alternatives list covers other copywriting tools.

The units are different, so the headline numbers do not compare cleanly. A Clearscope Draft is one full article draft, and the Business plan at $399 keeps the same 20 Drafts a month. Anyword's cost depends on how many predictions you need, and the data-connected features move you into a sales conversation. On security, Anyword says it meets SOC 2 and lists ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA as claims, with no reports published, while Clearscope has no public attestations and offers SSO only on Enterprise.

What DeepSmith does: the price scales with articles produced. Pro at $99 includes 20 publish-ready articles a month plus tracking and five seats, Scale at $399 includes 90, and the plan is self-serve with a 7-day trial. DeepSmith is SOC 2, GDPR and ISO certified and rated 4.8/5 on G2.

From insight to action

Neither tool gets from an insight to a published piece on its own. Clearscope's insight is a grade or a mention percentage, and acting on it means a person writes or edits the draft. Anyword's insight is a score on a variation, and acting on it means choosing a version and pasting it into the channel, since publishing integrations sit on higher plans and are limited.

What DeepSmith does: an Opportunity Agent reads your AI visibility data or your Content Map and returns ideas with the reason attached. You give an idea a date, Autowrite produces the article on that date, and you publish it from Produced Content to your CMS. Repurpose handles the channel versions the same day. That is the loop from a gap in AI answers to a live article and the posts that carry it, and it runs from one workspace.

Which should you choose

  • DeepSmith: for content and marketing teams that want to publish search and AI-answer content on a schedule without hand-writing each piece, with tracking and channel posts connected to the same articles. It fits teams that want more articles per month from the same headcount and agencies that run several brands from one account.
  • Clearscope: for SEO-led teams and agencies whose writers draft long-form pieces and want a grade against the top results, monitoring of published pages and AI mention tracking in one subscription. In a Clearscope vs Anyword choice, it is the one for search-ranking articles.
  • Anyword: for paid, social, email and demand gen teams that ship a lot of short copy and want a predicted score before it goes live. In a Clearscope or Anyword decision, it is the one for scored channel copy.

If your calendar has both kinds of work, the useful question is which of the two you spend more hours on today, because that is where a tool will pay back first.
